Arts in the Park
Once inside the park, follow signs to the Nature Center to be greeted by the sounds of a local singer songwriter or maybe a high-energy blues band. You'll see a small grouping of white tents with artists celebrating a wide variety of local arts underneath the high canopy of our native tulip, oak, and beech trees. Walk among 25 tents of very talented artists selling their handmade original pieces, enjoy a series of concerts by local musicians at an outdoor stage, help other community members finish a unique piece of art together while being outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine! To see a detailed account of the 2009 Festival, the Artists, the Musicians, the Workshops and lots of pictures click here. In 2011 we chose a different format from previous years: on Friday, artists and volunteers helped our visitors with all kinds of easy and fun art experiences. The day closed with music and dance. On Saturday we had our usual art fair, where local artists display and sell their original works, show and share their talents. It will happen again, in 2012: our 7th Annual appointment with the Arts - stay tuned! |
It's only five dollars/day for one carload to enter the McCormick's
Creek State Park, where every year on the last weekend of June your
entire family can enjoy the annual Arts in the Park Festival.
